Château Le Cagnard, Cagnes sur mer, France
Château Le Cagnard, Haut de Cagnes (Cagnes-sur-Mer), French Riviera
A unique and exclusive Hotel in the heart of the village of Haut de Cagnes
Haut-de-Cagnes is a little medieval village in the heart of the French Riviera 10 minutes from the airport of Nice, 20 km from Cannes, 35 km from Monaco and 5 km from St-Paul-de-Vence. Its authentic Provençal charm with its ramparts, sheltering winding alleys and shady plots.
Located on the hill overlooking Cagnes-sur-Mer, Hotel Château le Cagnard watches the sea and the hills of the hinterland. Located in the heart of the medieval village, this exceptional address is a magnificent building of the 13th century embedded and perched on the ramparts of the medieval village of Haut-de-Cagnes. Its name “Cagnard” means sun in Provencal and its history is closely linked to that of the Chateau Grimaldi dating from the 14th century.
The history is omnipresent in this beautiful residence: the vaulted fireplace in the guard room evokes the medieval legacy of this building, the time when the knights were protecting the village and its castle. But the frescoes of the ceiling executed in the last century by Emile Wery brings us back to exoticism.
Since summer 2015, Château le Cagnard is a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World.
